Nick and Jamie met in 2005, and were married on July 25, 2009. We live in Spokane, Washington and love it here. However, our families live a little further away - Nick's family in Central Washington, and Jamie's family in Wisconsin (Go Badgers). We finally decided to create a blog so everyone can see a little of what we're always up to.

Seattle Trip

Nick and I went to Seattle this weekend. Nick's company (Bellevue Health Care) sends employees from all the stores to a Seattle Seahawks game once a year. We decided to drive up on Saturday morning and stay the night before the game on Sunday. I was able to get a free night at one of the very best hotels in Seattle (Inn at the Market), through my connections in hospitality. Their Director of Sales and Marketing is on the board of the Inland Northwest Travel Association with me. Coincidentally, Christie and Mark were going to be in Seattle on the same weekend, so we met up with them on Saturday. Scroll down for a LOT of pictures below:

This is the view from our room!
The hotel sits right in front of Pikes Place Market,
with a view of Elliott's Bay.

Nick's eyes are so unbelievably blue!

Harbor Steps... on our way to the waterfront.

We didn't mean to both wear stripes...
It wasn't coordinated, I promise.

The Grassmyer's...
Don't fall Mark!

It was a day full of bright sunshine!

The boys chilling...

A picture for their daughter Audrey.

This one is not for Audrey's eyes. Silly daddy!

Dinner at the Crab Pot...
One of Seattle's most famous restaurants on the water.

Excuse me... I'm eating a pile of crab!

Harbor Steps at night.

Too cute!

Are we cheesy? I say yes...

The view from our hotel room at night.

Sunday morning on the patio at our hotel.

Us on the patio...

Pike's Place Market fruit

Fresh seafood!

Famous fish throwers at the Market!

You won't see fruit this shiney and organized at a supermarket.

Fresh Market flowers

I love the hanging peppers... they're fun.

Fresh vegetables anyone?

Market performer

This is Jonny Hahn... he's been a staple at the Market.
It's very special for me to see him here every time. As a child, I remember my dad and I listening to him for hours. My father loved music, and Jonny is an amazing pianist to listen to. He also sings... mostly political songs that are catchy. My dad bought one of his CD's 15 years ago (at least)... and I still have it. It's a cherished memory for sure!

Nick with the famous bronze pig!

My turn. Hehehee... Nerd! Gee, you'd think we were tourists here.

Only in a big city will you see mini cars like this!

The car is thiiiiiiisssss big!
Nice wing span Nick.

Seattle's famous Post Street Alley.
There are layers upon layers of used gum on the building!

It's just so weird!

Do I dare add my gum??? I think not.

Ewwww... Don't touch the wall!

Tailgate time!

Nick and the boys...

Nick and Ryan... every year in the Seahawks poncho!
Way to up your game by adding the sombrero and blue mustache.

Nick with Dennis... and all of his facial hair glory!

Kyle Davison throwing with his son, Christian.

Good arm Christian!

Passing Safeco Field on the way to the football stadium.
Home of the Mariners!

We entered the stadium through the fan zone.

The fan zone: Games, facepainting, beer gardens, etc.

Woohoo for the sexy SeaGals!
Too bad I couldn't get Nick to take his picture with them.

Our seats are pretty high up... but we had fun none the less!

Look, there's one row behind us... we're not in the last row exactly.

The best thing about the games... Garlic Fries!

Oh how I love the garlic fries!
They make us think of Grandma Crawford...
We had garlic fries and beer at the Mariner game with Grandma a couple years back.

Seriously... they are glorious!

It was Canada Day so we got to hear the Canadian anthem too.
Jamie is proud... since she was born in Canada. Hehee!

Seattle Seahawks coming out of the tunnel.

Cameo by Dennis' fingers.

Nick with Kyle Davison and Christian (Kyle's son).
They went to school together in Yakima. Kyle works for a different location of BHC.

Felix Hernandez (Mariner pitcher) raises the 12th man flag!
Safeco Field is in the background.

View of the other side of the stadium.

Sexy SeaGal dancers... Flip that hair girls!

Seahawks trying to score...

Too bad we couldn't get any offense going!

So close to scoring. We lost miserably. Come on Seahawks!
